African Americans are underrepresented as financial advisors.

While there are more than 40 million African Americans living in the U.S. – 13 percent of the population – only 8 percent of advisors are African American.

Fewer financial advisors means less advice for consumers in underserved communities.

Over the next decade, The American College of Financial Services and a coalition of partners across the country are pulling together to double the number of African American financial advisors.

We are calling stakeholders throughout the financial services community – from academic institutions to financial companies – to join hands with The College to reach the goal of doubling the number of African American financial advisors in the next 10 years.
